🎶 Song of Peace
"Cantico di Pace" at Borgo Laudato Si', with Andrea Bocelli
📍 Borgo Laudato Si', Castel Gandolfo
Pope Leo XIV returns for a day to Castel Gandolfo to lead, at Borgo Laudato Si', the "Cantico di Pace" (Song of Peace), a moment of prayer and fraternity promoted by the Laudato Si' Higher Education Center and the Andrea Bocelli Foundation as part of the celebrations for the eighth centenary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi. Together with employees of the Dicasteries of the Holy See, the Governorate of Vatican City State, and the Offices of the Roman Curia, the Holy Father raises a prayer for peace inspired by the Canticle of the Creatures. Accompanying it is the voice of maestro Andrea Bocelli, together with the ABF Voices choir: 164 children and young people from Israel, the West Bank, Uganda, Haiti and Italy, many of them marked by war, poverty or suffering. At the end, each choir delegation gives the Pope an artifact from their country. The event concludes the first "ABF Voices of Global Gathering," which began on July 20, and which saw the young choristers also perform on July 25 at the Teatro del Silenzio in Lajatico and on July 27 before Italian President Sergio Mattarella. The event will be broadcast live on TV2000 starting at 9:00 PM. Bocelli leads the choristers in "Amazing Grace" as the closing song and performs "Panis Angelicus" for the Pope, who reflects that the beauty of music invites us to encounter the One who is beauty itself.
