The day after the Sunday Angelus and two days after the historic state visit to San Marino and the pastoral visit to the Meeting in Rimini, Pope Leo XIV resumes his ordinary work of governing the Church in the offices of the Roman Curia. No public audiences are scheduled, but during the day the Pontiff holds several private audiences, including the presentation of credentials from the Ambassador of Nigeria to the Holy See, a delegation of the Military Ordinariate for Portugal, and members of the Spanish federation "Marsodeto".

The Pope receives in audience about a hundred people from the "Marsodeto" Federation of Toledo (Spain), an organization that assists more than 2,700 people with intellectual disabilities and cerebral palsy and their families. In his address, Leo XIV recalls the work of the founder, Fr. Marcelino Casas Fuentes, and states that "knowing how to recognize in the lives of the weakest and most vulnerable the gaze of Christ that calls to us" is what makes a human and Christian society grow, urging that families with a member with an intellectual disability never be left alone.
The Pontiff sends, through Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin, a message of greeting to the Synod of the Union of Methodist and Waldensian Churches, held from August 22 to 26 in Torre Pellice and gathering about 180 delegates. In the text, addressed to Bishop Derio Olivero of Pinerolo, Leo XIV urges Christians to bear common witness to the freedom of the children of God and, drawing on the encyclical "Magnifica humanitas," calls for technology to grow "without the heart regressing," in reference to artificial intelligence.
The Pope sends, through Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin, a message of greeting for the opening of the 76th National Liturgical Week, held in Catania from August 24 to 27 on the theme "A Church that generates. Liturgy and Christian Initiation." The text, addressed to Archbishop Claudio Maniago of Catanzaro-Squillace, president of the Centre for Liturgical Action, underlines the importance of the theme for the life of the Church today and proposes three attitudes for liturgy to be a generative space for Christian initiation: welcome, mystagogy and witness of life. The Cardinal closes by conveying the Pope's apostolic blessing to the archdiocese of Catania, to the bishops, priests, deacons, consecrated persons, speakers and all participants in the Week.
