Three new episcopal appointments in Mexico and Canada

In the daily bulletin of the Holy See Press Office, Pope Leo XIV announces three episcopal appointments. In Mazatlán (Mexico) he accepts the resignation of Bishop Mario Espinosa Contreras and appoints Bishop Ramón Salazar Estrada, until now auxiliary of Guadalajara, born in 1963, ordained a priest in 1993 and a doctor in moral theology from Rome. In Puerto Escondido (Mexico) he accepts the resignation of Bishop Florencio Armando Colín Cruz and appoints Bishop Héctor López Alvarado, also from the archdiocese of Guadalajara, born in 1970, licensed in dogmatic theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University. In Trois-Rivières (Canada) he transfers Bishop Pierre Goudreault from the diocese of Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière: born in 1963 in Quebec, a doctor in theology, since 2025 he has chaired the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops.
