The Pope sent Bishop Antonino Raspanti of Acireale a telegram on the death of Card. Paolo Romeo, archbishop emeritus of Palermo, who died on Sunday 25 October aged 88, recalling his ministry as a priest of Acireale, papal representative in Haiti, Colombia, Canada, Italy and San Marino, and archbishop of Palermo.
